Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences expanding in power within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of characters who will split off from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as key figures in the powerful family could assist the party reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
